Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect to see on my flight?

Each flight is unique, so we hesitate to make promises, but we can guarantee epic views of the most iconic peaks in North America. With windows on all sides, you will have unobstructed views of incredible mountainous terrain. Despite flying hundreds of feet over the valley floor, it is quite common to spot wildlife below. Keep a sharp lookout for herds of bison and bull elk roaming the valley floors, moose along the rivers, and wolves and bears amongst the wild canyons. We encourage you to bring a pair of binoculars along.

Is it safe to fly in a small airplane?

While no outdoor activity goes without risk, we take pride in our commitment to safety. Your comfort and safety are our number one priority. When you step into the cabin of one of our planes, rest assured that we work hard to exceed all FAA safety regulations. Each flight begins with a thorough inspection of airplane mechanics and navigation systems. Our aircraft are outfitted with the most advanced safety equipment and receive regular service. Take comfort knowing that pilot and owner Pete Lindell has flown single engine planes in a mountain environment for over 13 years. He has logged 1800 hours and has been a certified pilot instructor since 2007 without a single mishap.

What if I start to feel airsick during the flight?

Our experienced pilots will ensure that your flight is as smooth as possible. In favorable conditions the turbulence is comparable to what you would experience on a commercial flight. The open cockpit and numerous windows make it easy to focus on a fixed point on the horizon. Severe motion sickness is quite rare, but if you know you are prone, consider taking necessary precautions such as chewing ginger candy, wearing an acupuncture bracelet or taking an over the counter motion sickness drug before your flight (ex. non-drowsy dramamine). When necessary, we provide supplemental oxygen to all our customers on board our aircrafts. If you start to feel uncomfortable, we will return you to the ground as quickly and safely as possible. Air sickness bags will be provided in case of an emergency. But rest assured that the vast majority of people who fly with us feel exhilarated as opposed to nauseous.

BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT

Where to Meet

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled flight.  We are conveniently located at the Jackson Hole Airport. From the town of Jackson, follow signs to Grand Teton National Park, heading north on highway 89 for 9 miles. Take a left onto Airport Lane. When you reach the roundabout or circle you will see the main terminal on your right.  Go around the circle 270 degress and follow signs to Jackson Hole Aviation. We will meet you in the lobby.  Coffee and light refreshments will be available before takeoff.

What to Bring

Because you will be flying at altitude, we recommend dressing warmly in layers and close-toed shoes. While the cabin is climate controlled, you may have the opportunity to open the windows for a better view or photo opportunity. We recommend:

  • Closed Toed Shoes
  • Extra Layers of Clothing
  • Sunglasses
  • Cameras – Don’t forget to charge your batteries and make space on your memory cards. You will likely be taking some of the best photos of your life!
  • Binoculars
  • We provide aviation noise cancelling headsets

Taking Pictures

Bring your camera, charge those batteries and make space on your memory cards. You will likely be taking some of the best pictures of your life. Your pilot will give you a crash course in aerial photography to ensure you walk away with the highest quality images. See our custom add-ons if you wish to take advantage of our GoPro system or our professional photographer.
